Under the recently introduced points-based system by the UK Border Agency the Tier 1 (Post-study work) category allows the international students to remain in the UK for two years to work after successfully completing their Bachelor, (HND in Scotland), Master or PhD in the UK.

You can score points for various aspects of your recent UK qualification. These are called your \'attributes\', and you must score 75 points for them.

 The date of awardof your qualification was no more than 12 months before the date when you apply under Tier 1 (Post-study work) 15 points

Points for your English language ability

You will automatically score 10 points for English language if you score 75 points for your attributes.

Points for maintenance (funds)

You must score 10 points for having enough money to support yourself during your stay - this is called \'maintenance\'.
